View PostAfter a month of travel, every day somewhere to go, meals eaten out, scarcely a morning alone, I’ve plummeted into the relative stillness and isolation of a bout of Covid. Most symptoms gone now, the fatigue yet keeps me on the other side of all the December busy-ness. I’m trying to see that as a good thing, using the quiet time to sketch up some travel memories.
View PostEven in this peculiar post-Christmas mix of fatigue and contentment, moving through various stages of puttering and torpor — punctuated by bursts of somewhat focused activity — it’s impossible to ignore the problems a new year won’t sweep away. So can I really choose Hope as my Word of the Year for 2022 . . . (the first time I’ve ever tried launching a year with its own word)?
