Books I Read in October

Yes, my report on the books I read in October has broken my record for tardiness, but I’m finally bringing you a quick review of some engaging fiction (thriller, fantasy, mystery, social commentary) as well as a memoir that had me laughing out loud regularly. . . and a Young Adult novel my granddaughter recommended to me.
A lighter reading month in terms of subject matter, and I think I needed that — hope you’ll find something here to bring to your own armchair. . .

Back Home, Thinking About Clothes and Travel and Slow Fashion. . .

Back from three weeks in France and Italy, I’m happy to wear some old and new favourites again — and thinking about what I learned from living out of my carry-on wardrobe once again. Let’s just say that my commitment to Slow Fashion is stronger than ever. . . and that doesn’t have to mean a sacrifice.

And a Postcard from Outside Rome. ..

Most of our walking this trip has been on concrete or asphalt, surrounded by all the sights and sounds of a busy city. But last weekend we were treated to a day trip. . . a satisfying and fascinating walk along an old Etruscan pathway, through woods and fields, along a burbling stream, on a carpet of forest duff decorated with cyclamen and mushrooms. . . . And, as usual, I may have taken too many photos. . .
