Une Femme posted some Fun Flats the other day, starting off in her own Stuart Weitzman cat prints. . . I commented there that she’d inspired me to build my Outfit of the Day around my own leopard flats, a pair of Anne Kleins that are 4 or 5 years old, but still put a bounce in my step.
I kept it simple: a favourite pair of raw denim jeans (Denham, bought in London 3 years ago). They’re too large for me after my weight loss, but I thought I’d try them out as boyfriend jeans, although their sturdy construction and very well-dyed fabric is taking time to fade. They definitely need a belt, into which I tucked a brown cashmere v-neck pullover (Bompard); to that, I just added a few bracelets, my double-tour black-strapped watch, and my Wendy B fleur-de-lis necklace. . .
Looking in the mirror, I couldn’t help but notice that from my self-portrait angle, it was pretty obvious that rolled-up jeans can make me look stubby. So I stubbornly declared that “Short and stubby is the new long and lean”. . . and then tried a few other poses, just for fun. Slow shutter speed thanks to dark indoors, no flash ’cause of the mirror . . . and there you have an artistic (ha!) blur.
Put the whole thing together, just for fun, in a PicMonkey collage, and then I remembered that Citizen Rosebud was hosting a Shoe Shine event, and I thought “Why not join the crowd?”
Threw on a peacoat and a plaid scarf (’cause all the cool kids are mixing their plaids and their leopard prints, doncha know?). . . and headed to work. Just another Over 60 blogger. . .

Not remotely short and stubby. This, actually, is the sort of outfit I aspire to these days. I just have to find a way to include laced shoes, since my foot is still behaving badly.
What I wish I could find a way to include is socks! It's chilly up here without them. but that ballet-style and that length of pant make it tricky. Sorry your foot is acting up. Hope it improves soon.

The introversion post was interesting. I am the most introverted person I know. I think my children are a mixture but one tends to the extrovert side and the other the introvert side. I love being married to an introvert. It took years for me to figure out that I need to limit interactions with extroverts.

I like the jeans worn boyfriend style and the animal print pumps – I've resisted the temptation so far but might have to buy a pair for spring.
Funny, I got mine quite a few years ago and although I've thought about replacing them, I rather like them being a bit worn. I can understand, perhaps, why you might be resisting the temptation, but I must say that I like what they can add.

Some of the shots I took showed the outfit as quite squarish, partly, I think, because of the angle. So many screens get in the way, between my eye and the camera's version of what I wore. . . sometimes I prefer to focus on how I feel. . . thanks for your kind words.

I think it's just the nature of the boyfriend look, unless your legs are a mile long. I personally, love the vibe, and I'm now sold on spotty shoes…must buy some stat! I've also been scouting thrift stores for a tartan scarf similar to yours, but no luck yet.
Yeah, I guess the mile-long legs are for my next lifetime! Good look on finding the right pair of spotty shoes — once you've got them, I suspect you'll be surprised at how often you wear them. . . and good luck on the right tartan scarf. It will show up eventually, right?
They just go with everything, don't they? I'm hoping mine still have a few more years in them, but even always have one eye cocked for potential replacements should the need arise. Can't imagine doing without them! Plaid and tartan as you've done here is one of my very favorite combos!!
