I posted this photo on Instagram the other day while taking a reading break from getting the house ready to be photographed for its real estate listing. Have you read (or heard of) Emily St John Mandel’s dystopian novel, Station Eleven? I’m completely captivated by the premise, so far, and the writing is thoughtful and lyrical and engaging. And there’s nothing like imagining the end of civilisation to put a move from island to city in perspective!
Haven't read it, thanks for the recommendation!
This was a great book! This was the third "end of Civilization" book I read last year, and it was the best one, and it didn't include zombies!
Lisa, I think you'd enjoy it — thought-provoking, at least, about the value of the arts in extreme circumstances.
Ana. What were the other two? I don't do zombies (;-) Although I may change my tune as my nephew is just finishing a steampunk zombie novel set in Victorian London (yes! Really!)
Haven't read it. I don't do zombies ( maybe your nephew's would be first – but Victorian London without zombies would be perfect read for me!)
