Meme, the Second! Mater Trivia

Having just barely finished one meme, I got tagged with another one today, by Deja Pseu over at Une Femme d’un Certain Age. I’m going to have to start running faster. Truly, though, this is a fun one, a bit revealing perhaps, but mainly just playful.

1. Last movie you saw in a theater?
Either Juno or No Country for Old Men, can’t remember exactly.

2. What book are you reading?
Blessed Unrest by Paul Hawken

3. Favorite board game?
Not so keen on the board games, but if pressed, I’d pick Scrabble

4. Favorite magazine?
Depends on mood: Vogue, InStyle, The Walrus, Vogue Knitting

5. Favorite smells?
Lavender, Tomato leaves, roses, especially older varieties (Bourbons, Damasks), Vetiver by Creed, Terre d’Hermes, fresh-ground coffee, the top of a baby’s head, clove-studded oranges

6. Favorite sounds?
Bees buzzing among the flowers, red-winged blackbird, waves receding on a pebbly beach, flickers hammering out their spring mating drill, my husband’s head-thrown-back laugh, my class really engaged in groupwork — a productive, contented chatter.

7. Worst feeling in the world?
Listening to your adult kids crying over the phone when they’re in another city and you can’t do much more than listen.

8. What is the first thing you think of when you wake up?
Depends if my husband’s next to me in bed or in another city!

9. Favorite fast food place?
Never do that any more.

10. Future child’s name?
It’s my kids’ turn to do that now. I’ve already come up with 8 and used four of them.

11. Finish this statement. “If I had lot of money I’d….
help each of my kids buy a home.”

12. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
No.

13. Storms – cool or scary?
Cool and scary.

14. Favorite drink?
Tea, my special blend of Russian Caravan and Lapsang Souchong. Milk, no sugar, thanks.

15. Finish this statement, “If I had the time I would….”?
Do an immersion program in French to become fluently bilingual. Polish up my Spanish. Learn another language. Start playing piano again.

16. Do you eat the stems on broccoli?
Yes, but I pare off the coarse outside.

17. If you could dye your hair any color, what would be your choice?
Same as it is now — I have a great colourist/stylist.

18. Name all the different cities/towns you’ve lived in?
New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Prince Rupert, and Nanaimo — all BC.
I visited Ottawa regularly over the 3 years my husband worked there (now that was a long commute!)

19. Favorite sports to watch?
I tolerated soccer when my kids played and I enjoyed watching track when they competed, but I’m not a sports enthusiast.

20. One nice thing about the person who sent this to you?
Besides being bright and stylish, I think that Deja Pseu is a very considerate and thoughtful person. I’ve been impressed by her restraint which is emphasized in contrast with her willingness to “tell it like it is” when appropriate.

21. What’s under your bed?
Storage boxes — right now, the winter clothes are going in and the summer clothes are coming out.

22. Would you like to be born as yourself again?
If I have to be born again, I guess I’d just as soon be me. Better the devil you know . . . and all that. But there are some metaphysical problems to work out, no?

23. Morning person, or night owl?
Morning person.

24. Over easy, or sunny side up?
Sunny side up.

25. Favorite place to relax?
Either on my oceanside patio OR in my big leather armchair just inside, but with all the windows open in summer (in winter, I’ll pull it up to the cosy fire)

26. Favorite pie?
Blackberry, no question.

27. Favorite ice cream flavor? Sel de Fleur/Caramel; Baskin-Robbins Chocolate Peanut Butter

28. Of all the people you tagged this to, who’s most likely to respond first?
Since I just finished tagging folks for another meme, I’m not making any bets, just crossing my fingers someone will take this on!

So who will I tag? Well, let’s try IndigoAlison, Jodi at BloomingWriter and maybePuttermeistercan find a few minutes to escape from all the marking.

This meme was worth waiting for.;-) Hmm, clove studded oranges. I want to add that to my list. And, Sel de Fleur ice cream sounds amazing.
Really, this was such a fun meme. I really enjoy reading others memes. yet, I always fear that when I do them they are deadly boring for others to read. I guess it is a sign of mental health that I find you much more interesting than I do myself.:-)

LBR: Can’t imagine anything you write being deadly boring! Put Sel de Fleur ice cream on your “to try in Paris” list — tastes so much better walking along the Seine.
