We’ve been having much fun here what with swimming (some of us in a wheelbarrow — really, you’ll see, we took pics; some of us in the ocean), visiting, eating, trying to crawl (and no, that wasn’t after too much drinking) and just generally enjoying the sunny, beach vibe. I love how this weather, mixed with some company, turns my home into a beach cottage (which was how it started its life, for us at least). Nola seems to be enjoying it already, and it’s fun to imagine what we’ll do together in future summers.
For now, I’ve been having such fun with my camera — I usually just have the little Canon SureShot when I see her, but the Nikon DX40 is turning out better photos and the joy of digital, of course, is that you can snap and snap and snap. Here are some of our little girl modeling an oh-so-French Le Petit Bateau sunsuit I couldn’t resist picking up in Paris, even though I knew she’d grow out of it in a matter of weeks. Luckily, we’ll have sunshine for those weeks, so it’s getting its day in the sun.
I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that, chic though it is with its Nautical stripes and French je ne sais quoi, this may be just a bit too jeune fille for many of us women whose charms are, shall we say, more experienced.
Although here’s what Nola has to comment about sartorial restrictions:

I always dressed my first two in stripes nautical and hippie, right up until they had opinions. Then of course it was pink logo disneyesque tat all the way, so enjoy the dress up.
I LOVE a baby in stipes and she wears them to perfection, what a smile.

IndieAl: Thank goodness we managed to skip pink logo Disney for my 3 girls, and I'll just have to cross my fingers that we don't get caught by it this time 'round. You're absolutely right that there's a point where we just have to admit it's not up to us anymore!
I'm almost ready to share a bit of this heat or even trade for a day or two of rain and wind — just a day or two, though!
