I didn’t include a belt in my 5 accessories, and these wide-legged jeans really need one, so I subbed in the scarf — I like that shot of red, but you might be relieved to know that I ended up tucking those long ends in after I’d taken the photo, so all was neatly worked into the belt loops rather than doing that unfortunate dangly thing you see above.
And since I used up one whole accessory point with my bag, I figured it should get into at least one photo this week!
Cardigan, Liz Claiborne; jeans, Michael Kors; bag, Adrian Klis; shoes, Joe Sanchez; navy camisole I’m counting as a freebie piece of underwear (hope that’s not cheating — I originally thought I’d wear the cardigan buttoned, as a top, but realized I’d prefer a cami underneath for added no-peek security, then decided I’d leave some buttons open).
I liked this outfit, but I’m really glad to get the heels off and suspect I’ll be building ’round the black boots again tomorrow. Only one more day of the challenge, and, as you can see by my smile and more relaxed posture, I’ve finally got a bit more comfortable with the whole self-image thing.
My favourite outfit so far – love it to bits!
My favourite so far too!
Really love the spots on the cardie which are very Comme de you know who, especially with the splash of red.
Wow, this is my favorite ensemble yet! Love that fun cardi and the red scarf belt. And your smile…happy and relaxed. Those jeans are fabulous.
I just love wide legged jeans, they are so feminine and graceful.
Who made these? You look so 'up' and spunky in this ensemble. Rats, only one more day, just as you are into it.
I love this one! I'm fairly longing for some wide-leg jeans now; they're so Katherine Hepburn. And I love the dots with the pops of red–very snappy.
Love the look. I am not brave enough to wear the dots, but you look fab.
Thanks, thanks, thanks, and thanks! You're all so encouraging! I don't know why I haven't worn these jeans much except that I had them hemmed for 3-inch heels which I'm not always up for (whoops! sorry about that bad quasi-pun). They're a lovely light-weight denim, though, perfect for summer, and obviously dressier than regular jeans. They're Michael Kors, in case you didn't catch that above.
I'm pleased how well the scarf-as-belt worked out and I never would have tried that except for the challenge. Also realize that I chickened out too quickly by tucking those dangling ends in, as you all seem to approve the look as is — of course, part of why I tucked them in is that they looked pretty odd flapping around below my pea-coat hem!
So cute! So academic chic! And your hair looks adorable!
I have to agree with everyone else — this outfit is fantastic! If you didn't need to wear a coat over this, I think you could have left the scarf ends loose, although that might have required a smaller handbag.
Great stuff!
If the heel height stops you wearing the jeans, why not find a slightly lower heel and have them re-hemmed? Seems a shame not to make the most of them.
This is BRILLIANT! I think it is my all time favorite of your outfits. You look amazing.
This is fabulous! You look stunning and just perfect, all of a piece and package.
Thanks all! So encouraging!
Tiffany, because of the wide legs, I really think the jeans need some height, so I'm loath to hem them.
This one gets my vote, too! I love the jeans. Wide-legged just take them to a whole new level. I agree with you on tucking in the ends, and love the dash of red. I like the mix of patterns between the cardigan and scarf. This is a great look.
