she did it!

We made a very quick ferry trip over to Vancouver yesterday to attend my daughter Megan’s graduation (she’s finished Registered Massage Therapy school and now has four months to study for the board exams) and celebrate her fiancé’s birthday. It was a happy and momentous and proud occasion — some fabulous Thai food was eaten at the very satisfying Maenam where we were not disappointed by the surprise version of the Chef’s Menu — 9 wonderful (and spicy!  courses.

I forgot my camera, but I have to admit it was a relief rather than a disappointment — Rob got photos for Meg’s purposes, and we got to just concentrate on meeting her friends and colleagues and teachers and on basking in the happiness and relief of her achievement. She’s going to be a brilliant therapist.

Now, though, I’ve got to rush to catch an early ferry so I can make my 12:45 hair appointment back across the water (so two hours and change away). When I catch up with you again, I’ll share a surprising blog synchronicity I noticed this morning on a certain Londoner’s post . . .

’til then, a proud and happy mama wishes you a good day . . .

K, Susan, Marguerite: Thanks! She and I appreciate the good wishes.
and Marguerite, it was more like a re-launch, as this one was a fully qualified chef for ten years before switching. And it was lovely being pampered by the hairdresser!
Meg: We wouldn't have missed it! And thanks for introducing us to a great restaurant.

Congratulations to you, and to Megan. And what a joy to have an RMT in your family and not far away.

Alison: Ha! and thanks for the congrats as well
Tiff: It's so important, isn't it? So many people seem to live their lives without finding that.
    Patricia: Thanks
Duchesse: Theoretically a joy, but I suspect that rather than the cobbler's child, it will be the RMT's parents. . . barefoot, unrelaxed . . .
