My marking today, all day, has been pleasantly interrupted by a game of WordFeud I’m playing on my smartphone with my daughter. I’m not keen to add apps, generally, as they wear batteries more quickly and tie me into patterns I’d prefer freedom from, but I know she’s been staying in, eating little, sleeping less, so I’m happy to encourage her in this small engagement with life, a tiny step back to whatever comes next. It’s not an entirely wordless Wednesday then, but one whose words are rationed. I’m sure you’ll understand. . . .
