Visibly Marine. . . West Coast Winter Style . . .

My last post (on Paris, books, and my French-Canadian heritage) took quite a bit out of me, and left me not sure if I’d muster the energy for Visible Monday.

ButPatti always hosts a fun gathering, and I hate to miss joining the fun.

And I kept thinking of how much my Club Monaco linen-wool striped sweater resembled the one Patti modeled last Visible Monday.

And I thought of how well those darker-toned stripes might combine with my red pants to put a Winter Twist on the whole French marinière look. . .

Especially since there was a sailboat race going on during Sunday’s glorious (if perhaps too calm, from a sailor’s perspective) weather . . . surely a great backdrop for a marine-inspired outfit. . .

And just so you can see the colours more clearly . . .

Outfit deets: black v. fine merino turtleneck, Aritzia; striped v-neck, Club Monaco, red J-Brand skinnies; black Frye boots, and that necklace from Lisbon that you’re getting tired of, but that I think brings just the right balancing note of red to my top half.

And now you should go check out all the other Visibility happening over at Patti’s — it’s always fun!

Ah, I see, I see! Our sweaters are sisters! I like this paired with the skinny jeans and bold necklace. Thanks so much for linking up, Frances; it is always grand to see you.

The sweater sisters! or sister sweaters! Indeed! And thanks again for hosting our visibility.

So chic! Love the red with the stripes. And the boots give the look a nice toughness.

Thank you . . . I'm hoping it's a Paris chic — the colour combo seems quite French to me. And I have to say I was pleased to dig these boots out again the other day and realize I still quite like them. . . Shopping the closet!

Every time I see you in these red britches, I think I need to haul mine back out, but I have no backdrops like yours to compete. Looking good!

Britches! We just don't use that word enough! I'm going to start calling these my red britches, in honour of Terri! 😉

I love the red jeans styled this way! I think I'll be wearing mine on Valentine's Day. I figure that week 6 in the semester is long enough in to start wearing some less traditionally professartorial looks.

Raquelita/L'age: They're certainly instant attitude, are red jeans!
And R, I think Week 6 almost demands some sartorial snap! The middle can be such heavy going!

Definately NOT tired of that fabulous necklace. You rock those red jeans too.

What a treat your red jeans are! Yes, that post was an essay, but some ideas require exposition. I appreciate both kinds.
