As you can see, I’m not yet over the jet lag, but that does have the advantage of allowing me to watch a sunrise from start to finish.
We’re nestling back into the home routine, enjoying a bedroom makeover we commissioned before we left, trying to conquer the jungle surrounding the house — at least there will be copious material for the compost.
I plunged back into preparations for fall teaching and got some committee work crossed off my lists — and despite some frustrations in the ping-pong of emails (imagine/remember those years before this medium!), I enjoyed the change of pace.
I also wrote abrief post over on my reading blog about a book I thought powerful, marvelous, entertaining — a page-turner that will keep you thinking for weeks to come. I have a few more recommendations I hope to post over the next week or so.
I’m also planning to write a few more posts about our holiday, including a review of another small budget hotel — this time in Barcelona — that I’d happily recommend.
Meanwhile, though, it’s only 6:49 AM, and the sun and I have been up for hours! Time for breakfast. . . . Happy Friday to you! What are you planning for the weekend? Do tell; you know I love your comments.
And btw, if you know how to solve the problem I’ve been having with my Twitter widget (used to work, doesn’t now, can’t seem to install a new one as Blogger wants a URL rather than html code), I’d love your advice.
Monsieur and I are driving to Mazama in the North Cascades for a couple of days. It's a great place to hike or bike on the cross-country ski trails.I just started reading Barbara Kingsolver's "Flight Behaviour". I really enjoyed "The Lacuna". Time changes are a bit difficult but you do get those lovely sunrises.
I was partly into The Lacuna before we went away, and I should pick it up again one of these days. . .
It's true there are some compensations to time change — seeing the world at a very tranquil time of day is one!
Welcome, welcome, welcome home.
thanks, 🙂
I remember jet lag when Mr. C and I traveled to London with our 11-month-old daughter. Unfortunately, she and we were on completely different sleep schedules, so the lag may have lagged a little longer than necessary . . . Welcome back!
We never tried combining jet lag and babies — a lethal combo! My daughter and her husband just did that with wee Harriet, and are now struggling to get her sleeping through the night . . . Thanks for the welcome!
What a glorious sunrise!! Glad you're settling back in. Sorry to report I know nothing about putting a twitter feed on. I rarely use twitter. The most activity my account gets is from being hacked into and me going on to change my password.
That Kir sounds lovely. Crazy week for me, perhaps next??
Twitter's one more of those potential time-sucks it might be best to keep avoiding, although I also find it fun, often useful. See you soon!
