Summer Sitting, In Colour. . . .

We added two more colours to our collection of beach chairs — I trusted to Paul’s choosing, knowing I’d love a random effect (he asked for the pink one, was corrected by the floor staff that it was fuschia, hmmm). . . and I do, so summery . . .  (by the way, each of these chairs was transported to the beach by wheelbarrow and boat, as we have no car on the island and they’re a bit too heavy for the front of Pater’s bike!)

I love the way they look empty, waiting for festivities, but quite happy to shelter more contemplative moments. . . .

And speaking of contemplative, I love the way they look when they’re working hard, holding up a momma and babe. . .

Sweetness. . . summer sweetness. . . .

Again, I say, and now you know the refrain . . .

Ah, Summer!

Probably one of my all-time favourite posts of yours! Just looking at those chairs beckoning makes me feel more relaxed! You are so lucky! — Helen in Toronto

    Oh my!
So cheerful and don't they just beckon to you?
    Sit and be happy!

Your chairs look so welcoming and Harriet looks so peaceful. A sleeping baby with almost translucent eyelids is beautiful. It must be a happy time to have the daughters with you.

Yes! Her eyelids are translucent — it's a magical stage, isn't it?!

I'm looking at my collection, painted to match the gazebo, and they're coming up short….those colours are gorgeous. I can't wait until a mum and babe are 'working out' on one of our chairs.

Aren't they great colours? Thanks! (and I'm sure you'll put those chairs to baby use before too, too long. . . )

Love those colors, so striking against the foliage and ocean. The mother/daughter photos are full of tenderness; how little Harriet is growing. Ah summer, indeed!

They're really not blend-in colours at all! And yes, she's growing so/too quickly. . .

I love your colours, and the sleeping babe, I have 2 adirondack chairs – both cherry red, but you have given me an idea…

Well, cherry's a very cheery summer colour as well, but yes, there are rainbows to be had only a paintbrush away . . .
