Just a picture. . . but isn’t it evocative? I took this between late afternoon and dusk, one June day (this year) in Barcelona. . . .
I bet you could tell me a wonderful story inspired but this photo. . . anyone want to try?

Oh yes, one could imagine a multitude of scenes taking place just on the other side of those shutters. Beautiful photo!
Thanks, Sue — it's fun to imagine, no?
Barcelona, so beautiful. Someone is having a tryst on the other side of the shutters. It's great to be able to revisit the photos.
I couldn't help but think tryst as well . . .
Oh the mind wanders….perhaps one is slowly waking up stretching and aware of the sunshine pouring in the windows and a new day awaits….oh and let's order room service while we are dreaming!
Room service . . . ah!
A couple are dressing for their niece's wedding, to be held up in the hills. In the next room is his mother. She hasn't been well and they are concerned about leaving her but she insists. A wedding is not to be missed.
As the sun moves across and warms her room she dozes. Dreaming perhaps, of when she came to this apartment as a young bride.

I love how much you evoke here, Lilbet, in just a few sentences. I'm already wanting to know more . . . Do you know Barcelona?
I know Barcelona a little, it's a place I would love to spend more time. It's such an intriguing city. I enjoyed the many public spaces where locals still promenade and the restaurants and bars where they socialise. Then are the tall and beautiful wooden doors, the grills and shutters enclosing courtyards and private spaces, a legacy from the time of the Moors.

I'd love to spend more time there as well — like you, I was charmed by the public spaces, the obvious engagement with a culture of longstanding. . . and the light and the architecture and the food . . .
I would love to visit Barcelona.
It would captivate you, I'm sure!
