But Santa Said I Could . . .

I did promise to show you one other photograph, gleaned from my Christmas shopping efforts of last week. This one is a Self-Gift, one of the inevitable results of too much time in the shops, and I can’t say I regret it one little bit. Plush cashmere in a weekend-roomy cut, and bought at J Crew’s 30% off, a veritable treat for someone who deserves it. Me. I’m on that Been Very Nice list, and I know Santa approves. . . .

But just in case, today I earned more Christmas points, making up 3, count ’em 3 tourtières to take to our son’s for Christmas Eve. Finished a pair of socks for someone, also stitched up the gusset in the interminable project that is Nola’s rainbow pants. . . Started another quickie knit gift, added a few more rows on a knit hat. And now I’m heading off to meet a friend at the ferry and bring her back for dinner — Paul’s got a chicken roasting and it smells fabulous. He’s also just put some Christmas tunes on the CD player and the tree lights are twinkling merrily while the fire crackles its flames nearby — what a lovely time to be inside!

I’m not sure how likely I am to post again before Christmas, but if I don’t, here’s a great big Merry Christmas to all of you! Thanks so much for reading and commenting throughout the year — you don’t know how much I appreciate having you here.

Self-gifting – naughty but a very nice indulgence! Saturday saw me come home with a twirly, swishy dress for dancing on New Year's ever, and a wonderful pair of wine-red Kubos with a strap and just enough heel to make the most ordinary January day just a little better. Merry Christmas!

Well, if Santa said you should, you'd be on his naughty list if you didn't. Have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.
