Good Monday morning to all of you,
May I just say that sometimes blogging is hard? Perhaps tougher than it looks from that side of the screen.ย I took so much encouragement from your response to my last post, but I’m also feeling a bit drained at the moment. And I haven’t shared any sketches with you lately, so in place of words this morning. . . . last night’s sketch, my pencilled interpretation of a selfie photo you can see on Instagram. Vulnerable in the exposure of my completely ungroomed grey hair, I’m nonetheless shielded by my dark lenses — that analogy works for me this morning. (For other sketched portraits of Yours Truly, see this post).
For better entertainment, pop over to my friend Sue’s for the most delightfulFantasy Backyard Book Party ever. She can really set a scene, tell a story, and assemble a charming cast of characters.
I’ll be livelier next post, promise. . . .
xo,
f
Love you as you are, F., I love you as you are:).
Agree with Lisa:). And your wonderful hair deserves more lines than they were in your sketch. Blogging is a lot of work, lots of sharing, lots of giving….no apologies nedeed when you want to take some time to smell the roses…it's a contemplating time, time for inspiration as well
Dottoressa
I've forgotten to add my name to my comment on previous post, sorry
Lisa: xo
Dottoressa: Ah, that was you, Anonymous at 7:05 ๐ I should have known. . . xo
Thank you! My hair might deserve more lines than in my sketch, but my face probably does as well, hehehe. . .
No, it does not, you are already too harsh to your lines
Yes, 7.05,how you know me ๐ .I'm still not on good terms with all of my new hardware (and software as well)

Love to read you as you are, you're not required to be entertaining or glamorous. I appreciate your intellect and persistence. Carry on, following your North star.
AMG
What they said. xo
P.S. Thanks for the wonderful compliment.
I certainly appreciate all the work that you put into your blog, but Iโm also happy to see your sketches.

Time off for a bit of self care, very important.
Jules
Yes, it's work. And as always, I appreciate that work as well as your candour, gifts and perseverance.
Natural curly hair! Don't you love it? It's fun to be of a certain age and to have messy hair. Mine is getting trimmed next week. Visiting Sue's party gave me lots of ideas for my August book orders.
I was just thinking, after your last post, that I hoped you would limit your blogging time to a comfortable level. Much better to have less frequent/lengthy posts than to have you give up the blog because it's too much. I love your drawings!
Your blogging efforts (written and visual) are greatly appreciated by the vast majority of folks (99%) who follow you, but recognize the demoralizing weight of a caustic response. If you need time to recoup some energy, please do so. We'll wait. And think good thoughts on your behalf in the meantime.
AMG: Thank you! Intellect and persistence. . . I love that view of me ๐
Sue B: You deserve it!
Frances: You're always so good about them, thanks.
Jules: I think so.
Dottoressa: New computer? I missed that you'd got one. Yikes! Learning curve!
Duchesse: You would know — we've been doing this from our respective corners for how long now? Well over ten years since we met in Toronto and we'd already been blogging…
Mme: It is fun! Who needs to wear purple when she gets old!? We have messy grey curls at the ready ๐
Marie: That's a thoughtful response. . . this is what I'm working out now.
Mary: Also very thoughtful. Yes to recouping energy. thank you!
I need you around to expand my vocabulary, also often I have to check with Mrs. Google to find out exactly what did Frances just say ;-))
Curly hair can be a beast sometimes, thatโs the reason I wear a hat so often. The good thing is finger combing is the easiest way to style it.
I like your sketch. Have you framed any yet?
Ali
Do not apologize! You are not a dancing bear put on this planet for our amusement.
Girding my loins to take another pass at my closet. Wish me luck.
Good grief, isn't there enough difficulty in the world today without people writing insulting comments! I have "strange"hair — curly on one side and not the other so it's a constant struggle especially in Florida's humidity, but why anyone but me would care? Love your hair and outfit posts and often wish I was as brave as you are and less attached to simple jeans and tees,
Always enjoy your sketches and notes!
