I’m heading to the airport in about ten minutes, but the pieces in the outfit above are not coming with me. . . .
These are. . .
If you’re curious about what else is in my suitcase (for which I have no allowance beyond carry-on — lowest rung of ticket pricing!), watch this space and my Instagram as I land in Paris and see what I can do during this pesky strike situation. . . .
Okay, that’s it, then. I’m off. . .
bisous,
f
Fingers crossed !
Frances, your hair is so long and so beautiful-I didn't notice the lenght

Good luck with the strike situation!
Safe journey to you and have fun!!!
I agree about the hair–looks great!
Although one thing I used to love to do In Paris, especially on cold winter days, was to walk into a hair salon and get a cut. No matter where I went, it turned out great.
I saw a woman yesterday in knee-length shorts that were like very dressy wool pants cut off at the knee, with opaque tights and chunky military-style low boots, like Doc Martens crossed with Chuck Taylor high tops.
She looked awesome.
I am seeing these bad-ass boots on some bad-ass women and want some for myself. I am anything but bad-ass but I hope that if people judge me by my footwear I can fool them.
BTW, nothing but nothing budged on Thursday. Talked to French friends today who noted that while 800K people may have turned out nationwide, that's a drop in the bucket compared to a population of 67 million. But they can still make a mess. Supposedly part II is coming on Tuesday.
Safe travels. Good luck with the strike. Hope you can still get to Rome via the train.
Striped sweater over blouse looks as splendid as imagined 🙂
Bon voyage!
Bon voyage. Good luck with the strike!
Strike or no strike, I know you will find lots to do in Paris. Still, I hope you are able to get to Rome. Bon voyage!

Bon voyage! Hope all goes well despite the strike – I know you'll cope.
Frances in Sidney
Travel safe, we certainly live in interesting times. You will have lots of stories to to tell upon your return.

Have been thinking about you and your intrepid travels. Looking forward to reports from Paris "Ã ce moment historique".
Bon voyage, Frances!
The thing I'll say is that France has been on strike every time I've gone there and you've gone there infinitely more times than me – and had a great time. This is just how they roll. You will find the infrastructure and/or the flexibility to do things as you must. But enjoyment will be a part of the adventure, I'm absolutely confident. Say hi to the Seine from me.
I love your hair! So pretty! And I hope you have fun and the strikers/management find common ground.
Bon voyage!
Have a wonderful trip. I haven't picked up on whether you will be with your Italian family for Christmas or whether you will be heading back across the pond beforehand but – whichever – I hope that you have a truly lovely and memorable trip.
