Anniversary Thoughts. . . 45 Years. . .

I know, I know, I’m supposed to be taking a Staycation from the Blog, not supposed to be back here until after La Rentrée, and I’ve already broken my break by posting yesterday. . . .

But. . . . it’s my 45th wedding anniversary today, and since this blog has, for the last twelve years, kept a record of my life highlights (and lowlights as well, come to that 😉 . . . I thought the date deserved mention. We’ve always been fairly low-key about our anniversary (although I might dial up expectations for the big one five years down the road). . . But today’s number deserves a recognition of our good fortune. Back at 42 years, I wrote a few words about the role of luck in a marriage of any longevity. . . and about other elements that have played a part. If you’re interested, that post is here.

Okay then. Off for a day-long date with a special guy. . .

See you in September.

xo,

f

Oh congratulations. Definitely worth marking and celebration. We almost share the date – one day later (today) we’re celebrating our 41 anniversary. I hope you had a lovely evening out together. I’m sure that, like us, you’re still learning about each other and developing your relationship even after so many years together. My experience has been that life requires constant change and adaptation, and it’s that willingness and desire to go that together that keeps us happily together. All good wishes, Deborah

I think the secret to a lasting marriage is to remain good friends, no matter what. Enduring friends are hard to find.
Congratulation, you have found the secret.

Congratulations to both of you. Happy anniversary, and may you celebrate many more!
BTW, thank you for opening the blog for the occasion. I read your instagram posts but cannot comment, because I refuse to hand over my personal data to Mr Zuckerberg.
