Weight Loss, the Hard Way. . . .

The “good news” is that the scales tell me I’ve lost 6 pounds since Saturday. . . .

The bad news is a most horrid variety of Gastro-enteritis (or some such beast)… I thought I was recovering yesterday, Pater’s suffering from the same bug having lasted only a day and a half.

I even managed some knitting, a short walk, ate a little dinner.

But apparently that was a mistake and today will be spent very quietly with very careful efforts to rehydrate slowly without triggering. . . . well, you know. . . .

Radio silence will continue.

I am occasionally mustering energy to post a pic on Instagram. Might be a little while before there are words back in this spot….

Holding all good thoughts for your rapid recovery – your words are missed. I seem to recall that in the process of coming back to life from a bad flu, there is a brief period of near-exultation that it really is possible to feel good again; I hope this period is extensive in your case.

Hope you feel better soon. You seem to have had a rough few weeks. Relax and keep hydrated … not with gin though! 🙂

I'm sorry for the rough time you've had with bugs in 2017 and wish you a smooth recovery from here on out. My suggestion, FWIW, is to give yourself more "down" (and I mean "down) time than you think you need to recover. Sleep and fluids are your temporary best friends!

I hope you feel better soon — this is a rough start to the new year. The stomach bug is raging through campus, and I've avoided it so far. It's so hard to get your strength back when you have been sick twice so I hope you can take it easy for a bit.

How horrid. They're calling it Noro virus over here. Were you well enough for the grandchildren to come or is that still some way off?
