Saturday morning, I woke early as usual and enjoyed the luminous tranquility of the day’s beginning. . .
I peeked outside at the tent my visiting son had set up on the deck (can you see its outline there in the confusion of window reflections above?), its tiny interior challenged by the full-size futon mattress he’d dragged in. Apparently he and my daughter-in-law were managing to ignore the sun’s clamour. . . After all, they’d ignored the raccoons scampering by through the night. . .
So I poured my tea and sat in contented solitude. . . . Ah, summer. . . .
Hi Mater, your home looks so cosy! I love the window seats – they must have been custom made for you?
I think you still have the company of wee ones? – enjoy!
You're right, Patricia. We had an island carpenter build them for us.
It looks heavenly!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!!
What a lovely spot to savour the tea and solitude!
I can imagine sitting there in the peace and quiet…
loving all your pillows too!
Oh, what a cozy corner! I love those light fixtures too. Quite a nice nest you've built…
It's not a good shot of light fixtures, but I really love hem too. A happy find earlier this year.
What a lovely, comfortable, relaxing home. Enjoy your time before the new term begins. How wonderful that you always have this haven to retreat to when life becomes too demanding.
Thanks Vivian! I really do appreciate having a retreat to curl up and hide out in.
As if the morning light in summer isn't treat enough, having it to oneself………
Beautiful, peaceful views of your home.
