So close . . . .

Having marked and handed back three out of four sections’ worth of research papers (22+ per section), I now have only the four sections’ worth of exams to mark and that last section of papers. My throat wasn’t sore last night, so I got a better sleep. The coldsores are beginning to shrink. . . And I have a hair appointment this afternoon, so I’m going to surrender myself to some pampering, forget about work for a few hours. Beginning to glimpse a life beyond . . . .

I photographed this courtyard through a beautiful wrought-iron gate in Bordeaux. Life on the other side. . . Dreaming . . . .And hoping I get some tiny credit for giving you a pretty picture while I try not to whine too much about work. It’s either this or radio silence, and I’d miss you all too much. . . .

Great photo! Totally shows me your state of mind. And feel free to whine away! I've made a blog career out of it 🙂

It's practically a genre of its own, right? Creative whining. . .

Paper by paper, you're getting there. I'll still read you, even if you whine a little. Goodness knows we all do our share of that at times.

Thanks for understanding. I'm really hoping to be done by early next week, so I could focus on family while we're able to be together.

Moods seem a bit like clothes, with some just seeming suited for the time. So Prof. Demons may be the professeur of the hour, perhaps the better to push against that heavy gate. Hope there's yielding soon. Elle

It's true, the Demons will probably do better against the gate than any sunflower might.
