Professeur Qui?

Where do you think one is more likely to find me today, after a solid week of marking, another one ahead of me, with students e-mailing me questions about what is likely to be on their exams? And on top of that, I finally succumbed to whatever virus I’ve been denying (I ran 24.6 kilometres on Saturday morning, affirming “I’m not getting a cold”!). Croaking like a frog after being awake with a sore throat last night, I still have to drag myself out today to invigilate my students’ Final Exam. And then drag their papers back home to mark. Bah! Humbug!

So, much as I would love to live in the Esplanade of Professor Sunflower (Tournesol), I suspect I would be better recognized as a somewhat demonic Professor (in reality, Demons was the surname of a renowned surgeon, one who worked to bring the discoveries of Pasteur and Lister into French medicine).

There is no question, though, that if it weren’t for the anticipation of spending Christmas with family in Vancouver, I’d be quite happy to be in either of these Bordeaux locations right now . . . . I’m beginning to dream about next year’s vacation. . . .

Meanwhile, I’ve linked last week’s What I Wore to the Opera postto Patti’s Visible Monday and, as always, recommend you check out the sartorial array you’ll find over there.

I wouldn't be surprised to discover that some of my students consider me Professor Demons (without the historical context of course).

I hope you feel better soon! Currently I'm unable to talk above a barely audible frog's croak. Fortunately, classes are over so I only have to finish writing, administering, and grading final exams.

Sounds as if we're both at the same stage . . . really looking forward to some downtime!

Love those two signs. Take good care of yourself. That bug is vicious and hangs around a long time. Hope you feel better very soon.

I keep thinking of getting a pertussin vaccination re-up, actually, given what happened to a good blogging buddy. . .
