I’m practising my presentation one more time and then will be heading back out to UBC for another day of lively and fascinating discussions about the works of Joss Whedon, here at Slayage 5, an internatinoal and interdisciplinary conference.
As much fun as it is, we’re currently enjoying a patch of fabulous weather here on the West Coast, the first solid bit of summer this year. So don’t tell anyone, but I’d really rather be at the beach (in case my oh-so-very-amateur watercolours are indecipherable, that’s the view from our island home).
Of course, that feeling might not be as strong once I’ve delivered my paper and can relax into the rest of the conference.
Meanwhile, whatever you’re up to this weekend, I hope it’s a good one for you. . .
Good luck in Vancouver!
Over here we've just come through two very wild nights of thunder and lightening. I can't remember when I last heard thunder here. Today dawned mild and cloudless – bliss!
I saw some photos of that! We don't get thunder and lightening much on the island, but isn't it dramatic when we do!
Have fun (sounds intriguing – I missed getting into the Buffy/Whedon fan stuff with no tv).
This weekend? some proofreading and some learning to sail and another gallery submission to submit.
Lucky you! You could get the various series on DVDs and have a whole new entertainment world to explore. . . (spoken like a true fan, please excuse).
Your weekend sounds wonderfully varied — busy, but pleasurable. Sailing lessons, so summer!
Have a wonderful conference. My kids were obsessed with Buffy, watched every single episode. So I absorbed some, osmotically if you will.
xoxox
And being a Californian, of course . . . 😉
Love those watercolors! The conference sounds fascinating though, and I hope the weather holds so you can enjoy some beach time afterward.
Thanks, Sue. The sun seems willing to give us another few days. . .
I hope your presentation went well. And I hope the weather returns to its sunny state of last week. It's a misty, cool Sunday down here.
It pelted down in Maple Ridge keeping us all inside at a family barbeque on Sunday. But today seems promising . . .
I so wish I could justify attending Slayage from a professional perspective. In another life….
There were historians presenting . . . let's see, how could we get you there? 😉
Mater–Here's hoping that the conference and the presentation go well for you…and that the sun still shines afterwards.
You must have some sway . . . all those hopes have been realized. Thank you!
You didn't have to tell us – I recognized the view!
My first landscape! 😉
