We’ve been busy. . .in the garden . . .
hopping . . .
and skipping, jumping . . .
and leaping . .
exploring . . .
and pondering . . .
and practising our faces . . .
and thinking up stories . . .
and, well, you know . . .
just busy . . .
You? Been busy too?
Cute pics!
I am trying to photograph Mr. D's grandaughter, but she does not want to, yet! I will try again, one day she will say yes!
She has about the same style, she likes to dress in pink and she comes up with the nicest mix!
Nola is adorable

Good luck with coaxing your photography subject closer . . . these little ones do have inspiring pattern and colour-mixing style, don't they?!
I love these photographs. Such a vivid portrayal of a beloved little girl in the world. And who has not felt the way she looks in the last image? What a cutie, so open to the world.
Thanks, Lisa — I'm really happy that she has the confidence of someone who is well loved.
My, how she's growing! What joy!
Thanks, Sue, and yes, it's joyful.
What sweet pictures. So sorry I missed you two on the beach yesterday! She looks like such a lively little person and I look forward to getting to know her some time soon.
She'll be here more during the summer — we'll have to hang out. . .
She's such a big girl! No more baby there. I love how her hair is half in pigtails and half out. That's so how it goes 🙂
I actually just french-braided the one side to keep her hair out of her eyes . . . and she didn't want to stay still for the second side (also so how it goes . . . )
Oh you've captured her so well in these photos. She's adorable and growing up so fast.
We've just said goodbye to our guests, the weekend was busy here too!
Busy and fun, right? And yes, they grow so very quickly — I'm sure your little one is as well.
I'm gorging on these. (Would it be too obvious to send the link to my son and his GF?) Look how the sun shines through her hair! And those tights!
Ah yes, the hinting begins. . . I know you're just teasing, of course, but it's tempting to give them a nudge or two, isn't it!
Oh, she's just precious. How old is she now? the line about practicing faces really registered with me…my grandkids seemed to begin playing with that around age 4.
She's coming up to 3 1/2, which is really a wonderful age. Can't really believe it's going to be behind me again, already. . .
Such beautiful photos!

Thanks for visiting, Kate — what a fun blog you have!
Is it me or has time just flown away, really your posts of her as a baby seem like only yesterday, she is adorable.
I know! Isn't it crazy?!
Mon Dieu, Mater, elle est adorable cette petite! Tellement grandie, où sont passées les années?
Orane
Ah, merci, Orane, et oui, exactement, où sont-ils passées?
What a sweetie – and what a lucky Nana you are! I couldn't help but think of that old rhyme about what little girls are made of – she's the embodiment – but I'll bet there's an element of frogs and snails too!
Yes, she's very sweet, but she can mix it up with the tough stuff as well, loved helping her grandpa in the yard, and was especially tickled to find turtles at the local pond.
Nola's joie de vivre is evident in your photos – in her flying hair, her swinging arms, and her expressive face. How delightful!
It was actually the first time I'd deliberately used my SLR to try to capture a child in motion that way — I was pleased with how the shots turned out, so thanks for noticing.
