It’s a good thing this girl has taken up knitting because she has a tendency to wheedle my projects right out of my hands. Take, for instance, this cowl I knit up from some gorgeous yarn (60% wool, 30% alpaca, with 5% each silk & mohair) hand-spun, hand-dyed by my neighbour Liz, the marvellous Island Weaver. Well, yes, Take, she did. . .
To be fair, I’d already asked birthday girl (this one’s next older sis) if she’d wear it and got a clear “no” — a bit too funky for that one. So Daughter #3 stepped up quickly and that puppy was hers!
Can you tell she has a playful spirit and doesn’t mind a bit of attention?
And can you tell those are the hands of a Registered Massage Therapist? I know, scary, eh?

Both the cowl and your daughter look stunning in the photos. She looks so happy with it which must make you happy too. I keep hoping my girls will come to knitting, but alas no progress in that area.
The birthday girl will come to regret passing up this cowl. And if the massage therapist has taken up knitting, you must promise to snap photos of the first cowl/scarf she knits for you.

Terri: I should be clear that Birthday Daughter was gracious but honest — she didn't reject a wrapped gift, but I'd finished it coincidental to her birthday and offered it to her first, knowing it was really not quite her thing.
