You know what? Let’s just change the subject, shall we? My friends’ visit, plus the supportive, encouraging, sympatheticcomments from so many readers has me ready to move on. And I had promised to show you my daughter’s wedding dress. We still haven’t got the official photos, but these are some I took as she prepped, with her girlfriends’ help, in the room beforehand.
Well, prepped and preened and vamped . . .
A simple silk dress with its own drama (see above!), it suited her perfectly. I never did manage to get a shot of the whole dress, but the groom’s brother took this lovely, evocative shot of them moving to sign their paperwork. I love the light in this photo and hope (quite confidently) that the professional photographer has several of these. You can see the dress’s mermaid-ish flaring here fairly well.
Perhaps you’ll forgive a proud mama for saying her grown-up baby girl looks rather beautiful. . .
She is so beautiful! And her body is a knockout! Great shots all.
Ravishing. Just ravishing.
Simply a GORGEOUS young woman in a GORGEOUS
gown.
She looks absolutely STUNNING. She's a gorgeous young woman.
All of the above!! :0) P.
She does look gorgeous and her dress is divine!
i love the back detail and how it falls…you have every right to be proud!
She looks beautiful, and that dress is quite a stunner! Will we be seeing some photos of the proud mama?
So beautiful. And individual. And warm. It all comes through. Good mom, I say. It's a life's work, after all. As Jackie O said, if you're kids don't turn out alright, nothing else really matters. I'm with her.
Wow. She looks just divine – and radiant.
Oh I love the back of her dress!
That final photograph is awesome, a real Vermeer. She looks stunning in that dress. You are right to feel proud, a job well done!
My daughter is only 5, but I can only imagine what it must feel like for you to look at your daughter and think, "I made that!" She is stunning and that dress is the epitome of elegance and was perfectly suited to her figure! Congratulations proud mom! -Hope
Thanks all, from a proud mom.
NancyDaQ: We'll see what the pro photog took. Not much of me on my camera since I'm mostly behind the lens.
l'age: you made me tear up a bit. thank you.
Alison: Vermeer, lovely!
Hope: It was brilliantly suited to her figure, it really was. Thank you.
thank you, thank you. I am blushing I'm sure! It was an amazing flawless day. Mom, you looked great in your MOTB outfit – lots of people told me how lovely you looked. Thanks again… for everything?!!
Forgive your for gushing over your daughter? Absolutely! She is radiant and lovely. Both of your daughters are radiant and lovely.
I hope this isn't too out of bounds, but this bride is giving Pippa a run for her money in terms of looking smashing in white satin!
Mater and Pater have created a lovely family!
Now we want to see photos of you and Megan's sisters!
She not only looks beautiful, but also completely "herself". And the dress fits perfectly; was it made for her?
Gina: She's loving the Pippa comparison — and I actually have 3 lovely daughters, lucky eh?
Tiff: Yes, can you tell I'm heel-dragging on mine?
Duchesse: you spotted that! Yes, the same Vanc'r designer from whom she bought her prom dress 10 years ago and who designed her older sister's wedding dress. Because the lines are fairly simple, the price was v. reasonable, certainly as wedding dresses go. And it's absolutely and completely her.
You must be so proud! She is gorgeous — classically beautiful. Obviously happy.
Beautiful!!
Thanks Susan and Maggie — Megan is loving all the bloggie praise!
