Seriously Cute Style

My days of sharing GD photos are numbered, I think. You can see quite clearly that there’s a pretty definite person, albeit a small one, here, and I become increasingly aware of boundaries.

But we’re not quite there yet, so here are a few shots from Grandad and Nana’s day out with Nola yesterday.

She modeled a sweater I’d knit her (top photo –there were signs it’s been machine-washed, so she’s worn it some — a good sign)

Played with a rockin’ chair (I love that happily mischievous smile)

Rode an AquaBus to Granville Market (love the solemn wonder)

And chowed down on powdered doughnut holes after watching them being made through the same fabulous window at Lee’s Doughnuts that I used to hold her mom up to, some 30+ years ago (You’re my mommy’s mommy, right Nana?).  That I got to do it then was already such a privilege. To have this second chance? Beyond the telling . . .

So sweet. These pictures make me smile, yet I understand the growing concerns about respecting her developing personhood.

And there, all of a sudden, is her grown self waiting in her smile.

Nola is adorable…her eyes sparkle and light up her face.
You must feel strong stirrings of motherhood holding your granddaughter at the same window that you held your daughter.

She is really changing! I love the top photo and the one of her in the sweater you made for her. What a gorgeous little girl. She looks so thoughtful.

What? "Days limited"? Why, oh why? Plesse! Some of us do not have GDs, so must enjoy them through friends, and she is such an enchanting little person. Please!

I certainly understand the privacy issue, however, I would really miss seeing this adorable little girl. She is precious.

Thanks, all, for the comments — although they're aimed at Nola rather than at me, really, so it feels a bit weird to say thank you. And I'll continue to grapple with whether or not to post photos — they'll probably appear from time to time, so we're not quite done yet.
