Just Out My Window . . .

I know I said my next post would feature photos from my neighbour’s garden, but then this frosty morning brought me a kodachrome sunrise that begged to be shared. . .
so I obliged. . .

grabbed the camera and hopped down to the beach to take in the show . . .
still in my pjs and slippers . . .
well worth it, wouldn’t you say?
Made my morning cuppa taste even better (scald the pot, water at rolling boil, good healthy teaspoon of loose black smoky tea — blended Russian Caravan/Lapsang, steep at least three minutes, add dollop of milk). . .
Such beauty there is in the world, just for the looking!

These kinds of images are as close as I get to a religious experience. The quiet, the color, the openness.

Le sigh! And I agree absolutely with what LPC said. Nature is my religion and this church you are sharing with us is an incredible one.

an amazing pink cast to the surface of this water. Makes me think I need to get up earlier the times I've been at sea.

Clear sky, as rare as hen's teeth where I am! So I live vicariously through your photographs instead.

Oh, I'm so glad you're all enjoying these — and welcome to new commenter, Michelle — I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed our city — did you manage to catch a few rain-free days?
Alison: the clear skies are rare around here as well — which is why I get out right away and celebrate them!

Thank you for the welcome….have been enjoying your blog for a few weeks and decided to come out of the shadows.
Weather was mostly a pleasant mist while I was in Vancouver….we took a drive to Whistler and I think I noticed the ferry to your island. Hope to return in the spring and venture to some islands.

Michelle: The islands are fun, each with its own different character. And yes, if you drove up to Whistler, you would have passed our ferry.
If you liked Vanc'r in its pleasant mist, you'll like it even better should you ever get to see it with the sun on the mountains!
