That lost hour is really hurting me this morning! Crazy-busy, if satisfying, family weekend in Vancouver, which I’ll tell you more about later, but right now I am almost three hours geographically from where I work — luckily my class isn’t ’til later this afternoon. But before I pack and head for the ferry, I thought I’d brighten your Monday morning, the one that arrived an hour too soon, with these shoes. My sister almost bought them on Friday as some post-exam retail therapy after our lovely lunch together. I think she won’t be able to resist, and will pop in to pick them up this week (Rachel, ‘fess up!)– if you can’t resist them either, check them out at Fluevog’s.
Rachel might be good at resisting, but she’s no good at inspiring others to do so as well. Instead, she encouraged me to pick up the sisters to the orange beauties (both Macchiattas, in the Coffee family — Fluevog shoes all have names).

Admittedly, I’d gone in deliberately to pick up shoes to wear to the opera with my new dress (Catherine Malandrino) whose wild print seemed to demand something special.
On the mannequin below, it looks far too short, I know, but remember that the mannequin is probably 5’8 or 5’9. I’m always hoping I might get to be 5’4″, but I guess that’s not happening this lifetime. I wore it with black tights which I like to think mitigates the shortness factor somewhat. The dress is heavy silk jersey, and while it might not be standard opera dressing, I loved wearing it Saturday night, and I know I’ll get much use from it — great for travel, especially
You might be interested to know that we walked to the opera — about 30 minutes each way — and the shoes, brand new, were very comfortable despite the heel height. You might need your own pair . . .
Now I’ve got a ferry to catch. What rushing around are you doing on account of spring springing forward? That lost hour has been linked to a statistically significant jump in accidents the first week after, so take care.

That dress is fantastic! Love the 'Vog's too, and so happy to see that orange color. May have to visit the Melrose store soon…
We dont get to spring forward until later this month, so I'm going to make the most of that extra hour for the the moment.

Oh the dress is fabulous and here I am envious of you, wishing I was all petite and tiny, as my 5'9" self could not wear that dress.
Good to hear the shoes are comfy, those orange ones are really tempting. I seem to be a butterfly lately with my attraction to color, color, everywhere.

Lisa: I didn't wear a necklace with it on Saturday and don't think I'm likely to ever — the neckline folds in perhaps even more IRL than in the photo and with the business of the print, any necklace is likely to get lost. I'd love to have some shiny black cuffs and perhaps one or two coloured ones (with the colours in the print) and will start keeping an eye out for those. Saturday I wore it with silver cuffs and silver ball earrings.
Pseu: Oh, there are some great spring choices — you'll be soooo tempted!
Lesley: I do have to admit, though, that it's lovely having the light for a few hours after I get home from work.

Mardel: I'm short, but not petite! Now, I may be exaggerating with the "comfy" claims — they're not Naturalizers after all, but walking for an hour in new shoes? not bad at all!
Duchesse: I really do like it and it's great for travel — wish they'd provided an extra inch or two of length, though . . .
Great dress! We're about to go the other way into non-summer time … I am looking forward to dressing for cooler weather!

Tiffany: Because this dress is silk jersey, of a fairly good weight, and because of the rich colours, I think I'll be able to wear it through the year but I'm not sure how well it will do in the heat of summer.

I have the coffee pumps, they stretched out soooo much, but I'll get these you can bet. With those straps over the instep, they won't be leaving my feet. This is the ultimate in Twisted Classic.
Good to know about the pumps — I'd considered them. Pater got me boots in the coffee family at Christmas and I had to return them and go up a size. They're stretching quite nicely, not too much, I don't think, but I'm glad I stuck to my usual size for these ones. And yes, I love how Classic-with-an-edge they are, especially in black.
Pseu ordered them in orange after I urged her! I like the black for "edgy" definitely, but for me, the orange ones are more gutsy. That is what I want, to show my guts I guess. HA! I think I'm going to have to drive up and get some this week. Wish they had the pink of your other Flues. That to me is just perfection.
