These are shots from St. Pancreas train station in London — in my admittedly limited experience, this is my favourite train station by far — it’s really a beautiful space and it’s clean and well-serviced as well.
Isn’t that a beautiful mosaic in the brickwork?! And I love the complementary blue!
The combination of glass and metalwork is so effective — can you see the old clock in the photo above?
And look at that ceiling! I didn’t mind waiting here at all — quite a crowd getting processed through Security and passport check with several trains leaving close together, but we caught our Eurostar without any problems at all — we’d stopped in to pick up tickets a few days earlier — round trips for 99 pounds (cheaper than one-ways — could have been cheaper if we’d bought them earlier). We were in Paris within two hours, very comfortable travelling, and then we just took the No. 5 Metro line from Gare du Nord through to Place d’Italie which is only minutes away from our hotel — our home away from home, 10 days a year!
We’ve been out and about now, seen some sights, taken some photos, had some mini-adventures, and soaked a pair of shoes or two . . .
Lovely! Train stations are the cathedrals of the travel world.

St Pancras rather than St Pancreas, I hope!! It is beautiful, isn't it? I remember the first time I went to Europe as a child, the train stations made a real impression on me! Enjoy Paris – I am absolutely green with envy.

Last time I took the Eurostar from London to Paris I went to see Madonna in concert.

Tiffany! Yikes, of course it should be St. Pancras (and even just typing that, my 3rd finger automatically crept up for that -e- — could we blame the error on travel fatigue?
Imogen: I envy the idea of living somewhere where one can hop easily to another country — by train under a chunnel — to visit a concert — So Glam!
